Hi, welcome to Spark!

I'm so excited to have you!

My name is Shannon and I'm so excited to have you! I am a wife, mom, photographer in Barrie, Ontario and truly love my community, specifically the local creatives. I have been a self taught and still learning photographer for about 12 years now and it's been a dream of mine to own a studio space, not only for myself but for other creatives as well. including future creatives, like my 3 beautiful daughters who love photography and are always ready to explore their creativity. You may see them working hard in the studio from time to time.

I love all things creative and with this space also comes a place for community, learning and some beautiful dresses to add some sparkle to your sessions.

studio policies & procedures


  • The health and safety of all our customers is our top priority. We have blocked off 30 minutes between bookings to ensure that the rooms are completely clean and sanitized prior to the next customer. We are disinfecting all of our high traffic and high touch surfaces multiple times throughout the day.
  • Please arrive within 10 minutes of your shoot. If you arrive earlier, please wait outside until 10 minutes prior to your booking.
  • Please let us know if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms within 24 hours of your booking so that we can reschedule your appointment without penalty.
    (Fever, cough, sore throat, loss of  taste and/or smell, chills, stuffy nose, and/or any other flulike symptoms). If we see that you have fever/cold symptoms, you will be asked to leave the studio premises and no refunds will be provided.
  • We ask that everyone entering the studio use the hand sanitizer provided at the entrance.
  • Our makeup stations will remain open. They will also have 30 minutes between bookings to ensure a clean and sanitized station for the next customer.

  • You can book your studio time at using our online scheduling system. Our online calendars are always up to date and show the latest availability and pricing.
  • Please factor it into your booking whether you will need extra time to set up and take down any sets or backdrops etc.
  • Please book off an additional hour if you are bringing confetti, fake snow, or feathers into studio space, so that our team has sufficient time to vacuum the floors before the next booking. If you decide not to book the additional time, we will ask you to stop taking pictures during our room check and will charge you additional $50 for cleanup
  • Booking additional time on the day of your booking may be possible. If the timeslots after yours are available, just come speak to us at the front and you'll be able to purchase additional hours as needed.
  • Each room has a room capacity. Please be sure to let us know how many people will be present for your booking.

  • All bookings must to be paid in full at the time of booking.
  • Spark Creative Studios Inc. offers studio credit for cancelled bookings within 48 hours. No refunds will be given.
  • If you cancel or reschedule under 48 hours of your booking date, you will be liable for the full value of the booking and no credit or refund will be given.
  • You can cancel your booking by email.

  • We will visit the studio room at the end of your booking to ensure that the room is left in its original condition. Furniture needs to be moved back to its original place, and all garbage must be placed into the garbage cans.
  • Due to COVID-19, all props you use can be placed in your studio cart for cleaning after your booking.
  • If your studio is found messy during the room check, you will be asked to clean up the room. If the room is still left untidy at the end of the booking, there will be a $50 cleaning fee added to your booking.
  • Please do not step on the furniture in shoes. You may bring indoor shoes or we can provide you with shoe covers when entering the studio rooms. If you are taking pictures in your outdoor shoes, you will be asked to wipe them down.
  • If you need to move any of our furniture pieces, please lift them and do not push or drag them. This can damage the floors and furniture legs as well. If you need help, please ask staff. Furniture damage (including leg damage) will incur a fee of up to $300. Floor damage and deep scratches will incur a fee of up to $500.
  • Any damages to our outfits, props, v-flats, backdrops or lighting will incur a fee equal to the replacement cost of that item.
  • No open flame, dry ice, sparklers, confetti, glitter or smoke machines are allowed at the studio. If you require it for your photoshoot, please email at

  • Pets are not permitted in the studio without expressed permission by the studio manager.

  • Session props such as dresses, bowls, chairs, seasonal installations are all included with your room rental fee.
  • We have a selection of Savage paper backdrops in different colours at a cost of $20.
  • V-Flats, backdrop stands, extension cords, or wardrobe steamers are available at no charge, please ask us if you need any of these prior to your booking date as they are first come, first serve.

  • We carry a couple lighting options at the moment.
  • 1 Godox V860II Camera Flash/Speedlite (Canon mount)
    1 PB Einstien800 strobe & 7' PLM

All lighting options are available to use if needed for a $50 fee. Should the equipment be damaged during use, you will be responsible to replace the light.

Spark Studios offers free wi-fi to all guests. The username and password  can be found at the reception desk and at both makeup stations.
